I used to have horrible spending habits. I would shop until I had barely any money left. Now I am better at budgeting even though I struggle sometimes. Here below are some ways that helped me reduce impulse spending.
Ideas to reduce impulse spending:
– Check bank account(s) before spending.
-Set budget (Ex: $90 per month).
-Ask yourself what you need and why you need it.
-Do not buy things you do not currently need.
-When window shopping or browsing a store leave your card in a hard to reach place (back of bag, *this is hard if you have Apple Pay*).
-Withdrawal your budget amount and hide your card. Use your cash to keep track of how much you are spending.
-For unexpected trips and emergency set aside money (Ex: $70). Whatever amount is reasonable.
-As soon as you learn where you are going on a trip, set a budget ASAP!
