I recently watched Four Weddings and a Funeral, (2019 tv show). I thought it was put together nicely. It was diverse with the cast and culture depicted on the screen. The tv show was based on the original movie. I am a huge fan of the original Four Weddings and a Funeral, (1994 movie). I enjoyed different scenes and characters in both.
When I started the tv show, I was biased because I really like the movie. I was not convinced by the cast chemistry. By the third episode, I was hooked. The cast chemistry in the movie was stronger but the tv show had an accurate modern approach to relationships and love.
Favorite scene in 1994 movie
When David (Charle’s deaf brother) says the groom has doubt. Charles acknowledges this truth and is punched by his bride, Henrietta.
Favorite scene in the 2019 TV show
When Zora yells at Craig for having an affair in a museum (Season 1 Episode 2)
Favorite Character 1994 movie
David- He is the brother of Charle. Despite being deaf, he has a lot to say. He gives much advice to his brother. He is highly intelligent and charming.
Favorite Character 2019 TV show
Andrew Aldridge- He is a very conservative Member of Parliament, Maya’s boss, and Tony 2’s love interest. He has the best lines about love and life. I really enjoyed his character, it was refreshing and unique.
My favorite song from the movie is Love is All Around by Wet Wet Wet
The music for the tv show is gorgeous. My favorite songs are Around the World by Calum Scott and Dheemi Dheemi (Ain’t No Sunshine) by Naughty Boy, Vishal-Shekhar, Hussain Manawer.
I enjoy both the tv show and movie. I will continue to watch both. The Four Weddings and a Funeral tv show and movie is good for those who love romantic comedies.
*The tv show is a Hulu Original
