Valentine Movies 2020

This is the second year of my tradition of watching a romance movie marathon. This year this is what I watched! Enjoy!

I. Five Feet Apart– This movie is about a romance between two CF patients in the hospital. It was better than I expected. It was fast paced and cute. I loved the characters and the actors that portrayed them. My favorite parts of this movie is when the patients get an opportunity to make memories, regardless of their condition. I will watch this movie many more times! I am honestly surprised by how much I like this movie.

II. Love Actually (2003)- A classic rom-com consisting of multiple overlapping relationship(s) plot. There are many characters and different stories to enjoy. This is such an enjoyable movie to watch year round.

III. Bridget Jone’s Diary– This movie is a rom com classic about a 30’s something romantic life. She has two love interest Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver. This movie was entertaining and hilarious.

IV. Crazy Rich Asians- This movie features an all star asian cast. This rom com is perfect for anytime of the year. This movie was warming, it had great acting and cast. I hope there is a sequel to this. I would very much enjoy it.

V. Stardust– This is one of my all time favorite movies. I watched this last year for my valentines movie marathon. I watch this on repeat.

VI. Aladdin (2019 live action)– This movie is a remake of the cartoon version. It was a great movie featuring an original song “Speechless“. If you are a fan of Princess Jasmine and/or Disney this is a great movie to watch.


VII. Toy Story 4– I know this is not a typical romance movie but it has a cute love story. Bo Peep and Woody are finally reunited after years apart. I think this is an adorable movie to watch for valentines day.

VIII. A Star is Born– A talented singer meets a famous rock star, who has a drug and alcohol addiction. They perform together, fall in love then get married. She gets signed by a record producer and starts a solo career. He continues his drug addiction until he dies. This is a great movie that has wonderful music.

IX. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (A match made by God)– A Bollywood film about a couple who get married in a dire circumstance. They learn to love each other over time. This film has great music and plot.

X. The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement- This is a sequel to Princess Diaries. This movie is about Mia Thermopolis succession to the throne. According to the law of Genovia, Mia must get married before she is crowned Queen.

XI. La La Land– A jazz pianist and an aspiring actress, meet and fall in love while pursuing their dreams in LA. They love each other despite their differences. The two profess they will always love each other but are uncertain of their future together. This has a bittersweet ending.

XII. The Princess and the Frog– A cute tale about a New Orleans woman and a French prince. He becomes a frog and he kisses her thinking she is a princess. Then they both become frogs. This is a cute Disney princess movie.

XIII. The Proposal– A Canadian boss forgets to renew her visa and she is at risk for losing her company. Her assistant is going out of town for the holidays and she strikes a deal to become his fake fiancé. This movie is an all time favorite. I love the chemistry between the characters and I enjoy the plot. There are many funny moments in this movie.

XIV. I Feel Pretty– I watched this for last Valentines movie marathon and I still love it. This movie has displayed self love well and how people should have confidence in themselves. I have not seen a movie portray self love as well as this movie. This is a movie that is great for any occasion. It is great to watch when you need to remind yourself to have confidence and to love yourself.

XV. To All The Boys I Loved Before– This movie is a cute teen rom com. It is about a teenage girl, Lara Jean, who writes letters to her crushes and one day they are accidentally sent to them. I enjoyed this movie because the story is adorable and the cast chemistry is strong.

XVI. To All The Boys I Loved Before: PS I Still Love You- This is the sequel of To All The Boys I Loved Before. This movie is about receiver of a letter who confronts Lara Jean with the letter he received. She wants him to get rid of it because of her current relationship but he needs the letter to prove someone liked him as a kid. This is a love triangle between, Lara, Peter, and John.
